CCT Celebrates 25 Years

Corporate members, board members, staff and community partners, and guests recently gathered to celebrate 25 years of unwavering service to the Filipino poor by the Center for Community Transformation Group of Ministries.

Gracing the event was Benigno S. Aquino, III, President of the Philippines, as guest speaker.

Themed “On Eagle’s Wings”, inspired by Exodus 19:4, the anniversary celebration was a testimony of God’s
faithfulness to CCT over the years.

In his speech, President Aquino expressed sincere appreciation for the “meaningful transformational work that CCT has done.” He lauded the impact of the organization that he said goes far beyond mere figures, and recognized CCT’s programs and services integrated in the spiritual development of the people it serves.

“In reaching out to our brethren in the margins, you yourselves have become pathways to the Lord; you have helped them to renew their faith in others and in Him and in themselves. We remember Matthew 25:35: ‘For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me’,” the President stated.

Earlier in the event, a report on 2015 highlights was made by CCT President and Founder Ate Ruth Callanta, ten individuals were accepted as new corporate members, board members were elected, and important matters for 2016 were decided in an annual membership meeting. Ate Ruth also recalled CCT’s journey over the past two-and-a-half decades in her report.

A short talk show titled “Faces of Lives Transformed” hosted by Kata Inocencio toward the end of the five-hour event gave attendees a glimpse of how the lives of both staff and beneficiaries are transformed by the Lord Jesus Christ through the ministry of CCT.

The celebration was held on March 31, 2016 at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong City.
